Xspec Technology has successfully completed its 5-Day Advanced Polygraph Training program, held in Kuala Lumpur from 13 to 17 July 2026. The intensive course brought together specialized practitioners and elite officers from regional law enforcement and security agencies, reinforcing Xspec Technology's commitment to advancing credibility assessment capabilities across the region.
Polygraph examiners attended from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Singapore's Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB), and Brunei's Internal Security Department (ISD). Gathering practitioners from these agencies in one setting offered a rare opportunity for cross-border knowledge exchange, allowing examiners to compare approaches and strengthen professional ties across the region's law enforcement and anti-corruption community.
The program was led by Mark Handler, a world-renowned polygraph examiner, instructor, and credibility assessment consultant, who brought an unparalleled depth of knowledge to the session. Mr. Handler has served on the board of the American Polygraph Association (APA) as Editor-in-Chief since 2014, and has published over 75 peer-reviewed articles, including a recent, definitive comprehensive meta-analysis on the Comparison Question Test. He is also the current Polygraph Product Manager for Lafayette Instrument Company. Beyond his academic and industry credentials, Mr. Handler is a former law enforcement officer and polygraph examiner, as well as a veteran of the U.S. Naval Nuclear Power Program and U.S. Nuclear Submarine Service, lending a rare blend of scientific rigor and operational experience to the training.
Over the five days, participants gained deep technical knowledge, valuable scientific insights, and advanced practical strategies in polygraph examination and credibility assessment. Ensuring that regional security and enforcement agencies have access to cutting-edge forensic and credibility assessment technologies remains a core part of Xspec Technology's mission, and the training was designed to strengthen the technical capacity of practitioners who play a critical role in investigations across the region.
Xspec Technology extends its sincere appreciation to Mark Handler, Lafayette Instrument Company, and all the participating officers whose dedication and engagement made the program a resounding success. The company noted that this training marks another step in its ongoing efforts to bring specialized, world-class programs to Malaysia and the wider regional security community, with further training initiatives already being planned for the near future.
